Game of Thrones 3x01 'Valar Dohaeris' TV TALK

I'm making it. Slowly.
I can't say this this is one of my favourite episodes of all time.... because it's not. Not an awful lot seemed to happen but everything that did happen was exciting. This episode had an all-time low of my least favourite characters so I suppose that was a pleasant surprise.

TV TALKS:

Season 1:  1x01  |  1x02  |  1x03  |  1x04  |  1x05  |  1x06  |  1x07  |  1x08  |  1x09  |  1x10

Season 2:  2x01  |  2x02  |  2x03  |  2x04  |  2x05  |  2x06  |  2x07  |  2x08  |  2x09  |  2x10

SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD
Starting with a bit of Jon Snow, we're off to meet Mance Rayder today. From what we've seen from Mance Rayder, I quite like the guy. Jon seems to have won him over at least, and now.... won't die. Hooray! I can totally see Jon becoming sympathetic to the wildlings' cause, though, because even his 'fake' reasons to join them were pretty much the truth.

We see Sam from where we left him at the end of Season 2- surrounded by white walkers. I will admit that it was a complete miracle that Sam managed to survive. The Nights Watch come and save him and now they're all headed back to the wall to tell the southerners that we are knee deep in trouble right about now.
We had Robb go to Harrenhal, only to find out that everyone is dead. (Good thing Arya got out while she could). We find out that the massacre was all down to Cat's father's bannermen and Robb promptly sends Cat (his own mother!!!) into a cell.
Brutal.
Over to Stannis, he's... going certifiably insane. All because of the crazy red-head, Melisandre, who keeps whispering nonsense into his ears. God, I want to kill her so badly. Davos returns but Melisandre manages to convince Stannis that Davos is the reason they lost the war and Stannis shoves the poor bloke in a cell! Talk about peer pressure!
The main chunk of this episode happened in Kings Landing.
Sansa is having her usual bond with Shae (which I love so much!!!) when Baelish comes and offers to help her escape. I'm so excited for this escape attempt because it will no doubt be intense, nail-biting and super clever...... because it's Baelish we're talking about here.
Taking Sansa's place of soon-to-be-Queen, we have Margaery who I genuinely like despite her being a superb suck up to Joffrey and Cersei. She acts so perfect around everyone- she's the golden girl. She stops off at a freaking orphanage to comfort the kids who lost their fathers in the battle, for Pete's sake!! I can't decide whether she genuinely wanted to help them or if she did it to win the love of her future people- love rules stronger than fear, don't you know, Joffrey? But whatever her intention, she's clever and I like it!
And Tyrion..... oh, my beautiful Tyrion!
He's enlisted Bronn to fully protect him after Cersei hired someone to try and kill him during the battle of Blackwater Bay. Cersei begins the episode slightly worried that Tyrion will spill her secrets to Tywin and I hope to god he holds his knowledge over he as much as he can- let the bitch suffer.
We also have a scene between Tywin and Tyrion which was heart-breaking! Tyrion is the whole reason we won that battle and, as some kind of acknowledgement, Tyrion wants Casterly Rock by right!!! But Twyin, his own godamn father, shoots him down by calling him a disgrace! He's utterly brutal and I hate that people keep blaming Tyrion for his own mother's death. Give the poor guy a break!!
Last but not least, we have the stunning Daenerys.
Now that Khaleesi and the Dothraki are free, we're on the hunt for an army. Daenerys wants to buy a slave army, the Unsullied. We also have an unfortunate encounter with a little girl Warlock who tries to murder Khaleesi. I loved this sequence, though- it was so well done!
Ser Barristan saves her and pledges loyalty to her Queensguard which can only be a good thing, surely? I don't want to be too optimistic with this show.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to comment your thoughts. Stay amazing!
