Weregirl- C.D. Bell BOOK TOUR REVIEW

***
I was kindly sent this book by the publishers in exchange for an honest review.
Yes, yes, wolf books are far from cliché at the moment. I know, I know but...honestly? It's nice to have a bit cheese every now and then! It's nice to relax, sit back, and sink into a well-written, easy read. If it happens to be about a well-loved subject of werewolves? So, what?! It was a beautiful, unique, read and I desperately enjoyed it.
It wasn't your general werewolf story. Yes, the main character was bitten and turned but it wasn't the main focus of the story. There was so much depth and intertwining plot-lines that the fact that the heroine could turn into a wolf...it was just a given! And I liked that. There wasn't a major drama about the struggle to turn and I was so relieved about that.
There was a tiny bit of romance included... if I can say that definitively. Yes, it was small but it was there! It's the thought that counts.
I would definitely recommend this book for lovers of  supernatural and sci-fi mainly but, as with any book, there are so many different genre and topic layers on top of those.

SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD
This book was so beautifully easy to read. Seeing as though I read it over an eight-hour plane journey...it sunk into my system pretty quickly. And I think that makes it even better! It managed to hold my attention all through a long and tiring plane journey! Hats off to you, C. D. Bell.

The characters were likable in general and I thought Nessa was pretty cool. She didn't amaze, amaze, amaze me but she was a solid main character for this story.
I liked Luc from the beginning simply because he reminds me a bit more of myself and, as I was constantly hypothesizing through this entire book, I've naturally assumed that Luc is the Grey Wolf. I've read many reviews for this book and no one else has predicted this so... it has me doubting myself but, in my head, I imagined Luc as the Grey Wolf as soon as he was mentioned. Hear me out: the Grey Wolf got injured in the final 'battle' scene. Luc then preceded to go 'AWOL' for a decent amount of time before suddenly coming back and talking straight to Nessa. Coincidence? Doesn't that make sense? Doesn't it? Comment your theories- I'd love to know!
The plot-line took a massive turn in direction that I was not expecting. I had no idea that Nessa's brother would hold so much significance but I actually loved it! While the whole 'research industry' aspect isn't something I'd usually like, Bell made it work.
I liked the way Bell wrote in the wolf's perspective. It wasn't too overly descriptive or over the top. (Though I would say that it's sometimes confusing when so many wolves are involved in a scene and you're trying to remember who is who because they don't have actual names. But I totally understand this- it must be difficult trying to construct those passages in the least confusing way possible. It's not like all of the wolves wear fancy little name tags...).
I wasn't a huge fan of the open ending- it was a tad dissatisfying. Everything patched up really quickly and, if Luc isn't the Grey Wolf (though, I'm calling it) then Nessa warmed up to him very drastically and very quickly.
I've heard a little rumour that this is going to be a series...so. Is that true? I want it to be! All that Luc and Nessa action...

Thanks for reading! Feel free to comment your thoughts! Stay amazing!

AUTHOR INFO
When she's not biking the streets of Brooklyn, NY, you can find C. D. Bell writing in a decrepit RV clinging to the side of a hill in upstate New York to teach herself to watercolor, or inventing her own recipes. She is a voracious reader of anything and everything fantasy, supernatural, or romance. And she swears that the monsters she often writes about are not real- at least she hopes not.
