The Walking Dead 1x06 'TS-19' TV TALK

We're at the season finale already! It's a short and sweet season but I think it sets the rest of the show up nicely- we have plenty of time to explore things further.
I've discovered something about myself this episode. Again, this wasn't my favourite episode of the series- my favourites were the first few. Mainly, this is because there's more action, Walkers, gruesome parts and chopped off hands in the first couple of episodes. So, what I've discovered about myself, is that I love all the fast-paced, action sequences with us shooting people in the head.
Great. I don't know what that says about me.

SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD- SPOILERS AHEAD
We started off this episode with a flashback which I liked. I did have a hunch that it wasn't completely Shane's fault about thinking Rick was dead. It was in the heat of the moment and everyone around him was getting killed- you can't completely blame him, can you? I do feel sorry for Shane a lot of the time.
This episode was fairly tame compared to others as it focused mainly on moving the plot along and looking at the impacts of this epidemic on the rest of the world instead of our group.
The first section of this episode was quite peaceful. Everyone was celebrating and getting drunk. The only real drama we had was drunk Shane declaring his love for Lori. I do genuinely believe him and, again, I feel sorry for him!! He has gone the wrong way about everything but... I can't wait for Rick to find out about them- I need to see this drama!
I found the whole brain scan part of Test Subject 19 (aka Jenner's wife) really interesting. I can't wait to delve more into the causes for this epidemic in further series. The scans broke down the situation really well.
Jenner was distant and a bit off from the very beginning so I wasn't surprised when he went all hell-bent on killing them all. I understand his reasons- and respect them- but the fact of the matter is that he should've warned them and given them a better chance of getting out.
I loved the ending because it was tense and we got to kill some Walkers!!! So we got a bit of blood in this episode, at least.

Overall. I'm super impressed (and obsessed) with this series and am so excited to delve into more! Only 6 more seasons to go until I catch up!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to comment your thoughts. Stay amazing!
